To register a company in Rwanda, follow these steps:
Step 1: Choose and reserve a business name:

Select a unique name for your company that is not already in
use in Rwanda. Through the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) website, you can check and reserve a business name.

Step 2: Prepare your documents:

You will need to prepare the required documents depending on
the company you wish to register. The requirements are mentioned below

Step 3: Register your company with RDB and RRA:

Under RDB company registration You will lodge the documents
listed in step 2 in order for the company Registration process to start. At the
end of the process, a Certificate of Incorporation will be issued.

After registering the Rwanda company, you should register for
taxes with the Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) for ease of payment of taxes and transactions within Rwanda.

Step 4: Obtain necessary permits and licenses:

After Company Registration, You may need to seek
extra permits and licenses from the relevant authorities depending on the
nature of your business.

Step 5: Open a bank account:

To perform business activities, you will need to open a bank
account for your company. Currently there are 16 commercial banks to choose from.

Power of attorney for company representation in Rwanda (notarized)

Certified copy of the Memorandum and Articles of Association (notarized)

Certificate of Registration/Incorporation from the original registration authority (notarized)

Notarized authorization resolution from the parent company

Passport copies of shareholders and directors

A list of at least one director residing in Rwanda
